The Bio-Medical Engineering School
Science and medicine know no boundaries.”
-Magdi Yacoub
Understanding
the workings of the body and the science that surrounds it is a key aspect of
life. Our goal is to create healthy bodies which, in turn, create healthy minds
and help our students become scholars. Whether it’s learning about biology,
food, or health, the building blocks for future growth are established
here.
Biomedical engineering is an innately interdisciplinary
field because it applies engineering practices and artistic design concepts to
the areas of medicine and biology. Kilpatrick will incorporate grade-specific
research expectations found within the Common Core standards, with the theme
branching into five central facets of learning: 1) Wellness 2)
Health and Disease 3) Science and Medicine 4) Technology and
Medicine, and 5) Biomedical Careers.
